TWITTER CHAT ALERT! WORLD BIRTH DEFECTS DAY
- 01 Mar 2019 alle 09:41:16
March 3rd is World Birth Defect Day, a global event to create awareness about birth defects.
- Every year, about 8 million babies around the world are born with a serious birth defect, and about 3 million of them will die before their fifth birthday.
- In the United States, that’s about 1 in 33 babies. Many babies with birth defects die, while others have lifelong health problems.
- Many birth defects can be prevented by taking appropriate measures before and during pregnancy.
Join us on Friday, March 1 at 11:00 a.m. EST for a bilingual Twitter chat and lend your voice to this important cause. This year’s theme is “Many birth defects, one voice.” March of Dimes will be hosting this important discussion with many organizations from all around the world, like:
- International Clearinghouse for Birth Defects Surveillance and Research
- Center for Disease Control and Prevention
- MotherToBaby
- World Health Organization
- National Birth Defects Prevention Network
- Center for Spina Bifida Prevention
- Teratology Society
- Spanish Collaborative Study of Congenital Malformations
- Food Fortification Initiative
- Estudio Colaborativo Latino Americano de Malformaciones Congénitas (ECLAMC)
